Robert Smyth Academy (part of Tudor Grange Academies Trust), has benefited from a strong partnership with the Harborough Woodland. They have been fantastic partners and they share our vision to promote the ecological diversity and the environmental betterment of our school community.
With Kimberley’s co-ordination, we were able to take part in a tree-planting day which led to the planting of over 1,000 new trees on our school estate. The students who took part in the planting of those trees described the day as being inspirational and they all felt a sense of accomplishment in the way that they had been able to contribute to making their community a better place for the future.
As a result of our work with Harborough Woodland, we have been further inspired to become an even greener school and we have established a student-led environmental committee which is facilitated by an Eco-Schools Ambassador.
This summer, Robert Smyth Academy was awarded the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag for our work and this would not have been possible without the partnership with Kimberley and Harborough Woodland.
