About us
We are a community passionate about planting trees.
We work with our friends and neighbours to plant trees
We have fun planting trees, for wellbeing, for nature, for carbon capture and flood mitigation.
Started in 2020 by a small team of enthusiasts
- Our volunteers have planted 34,000 trees (mostly free), equivalent to 7km of hedges and helped community groups in five counties
- Instigated 12 large-area natural flood management schemes
- Active members of Welland Valley Partnership (EMRT) and Market Harborough Surface Water Management Plan (LCC LLFA)
- Given 20 presentations and helped start up two sister groups
- Created our Greener Schools Group, 4 community FLOODHUBS and 2 SCREENTEAMS in flood hotspots.
- Created Facebook community groups with Friends of River Welland Catchment and Natural Flood Management UK.
- Helped create Harborough Town Hub and its 5 Neighbourhood Forums
- Our volunteers have been recognised by Royal Coronation Champions Award 2023, National River Champion Award 2022 (RRC)
- We support the Local Nature Recovery Strategy and Midlands Forest Network
